What’s gone wrong?
Answer two quick questions. You’ll get safety steps, an honest view of how urgent it is, and a message to Mike that’s ready to send.
This helper gives general guidance only. If you smell gas, call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999.
Do you do emergency call-outs?
Yes, for leaks, lost heating and serious problems, as long as Mike can get to you. Call rather than message for anything urgent.
What should I do while I wait?
Turn off the water at the stopcock (often under the kitchen sink), switch off electrics near the leak, and catch what you can. The 'What's gone wrong?' helper walks you through it.
I can smell gas. Should I call you?
No. Call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999 straight away, open windows and don't use switches. Once it's made safe, Mike can do the repair.
